Privilege Access Management (PAM)
Secure, Simple Admin Access When You Need It
digiBandit manages admin access on your devices so you stay protected without getting in the way of your work.
How It Works
Your computer runs as a standard user by default. This protects you from malware, accidental system changes, and unauthorized software. When you need admin access (to install something, change a system setting, etc.), you can request it right from your taskbar.
Requesting Admin Access
- Right-click the digiBandit icon in your system tray (bottom-right of your screen)
- Click Request Admin Access
- Wait a few seconds. You will see a notification: "Admin access granted for 15 minutes"
- Do what you need to do (install software, change settings, etc.)
- Admin access automatically expires after the timer runs out. You do not need to do anything.
That is it. No separate app, no portal, no passwords to enter.
What Happens During Admin Access
- When you run an installer or make a system change, Windows will ask "Do you want to allow this app to make changes?" Just click Yes.
- A countdown shows in your tray icon so you know how much time you have left.
- You can click Revoke Now in the tray menu if you are done early.
Security
- Every elevation request is logged and monitored by our security systems.
- Admin access is time-limited and automatically revoked.
- If something unusual is detected, our team is alerted immediately.
- Your device returns to standard user mode automatically. No action needed on your part.
FAQ
Q: What if my admin access expires before I am done? A: Just request it again from the tray icon.
Q: Do I need to restart my computer? A: No. Admin access takes effect immediately for new actions.
Q: What if the icon is not in my tray? A: Contact digiBandit support. The companion app may need to be updated.
